The Governors Ball announced their festival lineup on Tuesday (January 14), which features headlining sets from Tyler, the Creator, Olivia Rodrigo, and Hozier over the course of the three-day music fest in New York this summer. Governors Ball 2025 is scheduled to take place from Friday, June 6, through Sunday, June 8 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens. Tyler, the Creator leads Friday’s lineup, joined by Benson Boone, Mk.gee, T-Pain, Tyla, Role Model, the Backseat Lovers, JPegMafia and more. On Tuesday (January 7), Spotify launched their first-ever concert film featuring a live performance from one of their most-streamed artists, The Weeknd. The 45-minute film is titled, Billions Club Live With The Weeknd, and captures the music superstar’s recent one-night-only Los Angeles concert that highlighted his record-breaking 25 songs with over a billion total streams. In addition to the Weeknd’s chart-topping hits, the set also features performances of new tracks from his highly-anticipated upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. The concert film also includes some voiceover insights from The Weeknd, in which he “reflects on moments of transformation throughout his career and expresses gratitude for his global audience,” according to a press release. Bodycam footage surfaced on Friday (January 3) capturing a hostile interaction between Ice-T and a New Jersey police officer during a 2024 traffic stop. The musician/actor was pulled over next to the Hudson County Department of Motor Vehicles as he was on his way to register his car with the state. “I got seven cars, I’m trying to get them all straight,” a clearly agitated Ice-T explained to the cop. “You don’t gotta be that serious about this.” The officer felt disrespected by the rap legend, and threatened to take his keys away and have the vehicle towed. Ice-T demanded his paperwork back from the cop so he could walk to the DMV and register his automobile.
